The Brazilian solid waste management market is undergoing significant modifications, primarily due to urgent legal changes. Every municipality in Brazil is required to close open dumps and pre-treat waste destined for landfills, resulting in substantial capital expenditure to upgrade equipment and further investments in project management.

As the single trade show in the country exclusively focused on solid waste management, Waste Expo Brasil 2024 provides a unique opportunity to engage with key decision-makers, solid waste operators, public cleaning companies, waste generators and public managers from across the country, establishing business relationships that no other channel can offer.

In 2024, Waste Expo Brasil will again be co-located with Fenasan. This show aims to promote and disseminate technologies used in the environmental sanitation sector, fostering the exchange of information, product demonstrations and technological development in water treatment, sanitary sewage, rainwater drainage, laboratory analysis, adduction and supply, and collection systems. Held in conjunction with the Congresso Nacional de Saneamento e Meio Ambiente, the event attracts approximately 22,000 visitors annually and is considered the largest of its kind in Latin America.

Basic sanitation and solid waste management in Brazil are mandated to be overseen by municipalities. However, with the majority of cities having limited operational structures and resources, they seek affordable technology solutions and specific financing mechanisms. Given the myriad complex issues facing this industry in a country with over 216 million citizens, Waste Expo Brasil and Fenasan are essential events. They bring together the entire production chain simultaneously and in one location, providing high-level technical content delivered by experts, technicians, entrepreneurs and authorities through lectures, courses and workshops.
