This year IFAT Eurasia has moved from Ankara to the historic bridge and the central marketplace between Europe and Asia, Istanbul.

IFAT Eurasia 2017 took place between February 16th and 18th in the Istanbul Expo Centre (IFM) close to the international Istanbul Ataturk Airport. The exhibition area increased almost ten percent to over 17’000 square meters. A total of 230 exhibitors, representing 412 companies, took part in the second edition of Eurasia’s Leading Trade Fair for Environmental Technologies. Also, there is a significant raise in visitor numbers (11’326) in comparison to the first IFAT Eurasia in 2015 in Ankara.

Additional to the exhibition there was a conference program with high-ranking speakers such as politicians, university professors and other representatives, where attendees could benefit from insights into current trends and new developments in the environmental sector and in the Eurasian environmental market. The exhibitors could benefit as well from the good weather during the trade fair in Istanbul and the great atmosphere in the halls which probably led even more visitors to the exhibition.

Swiss Exhibitors New Business Projects

The Swiss Exhibitors were overwhelmed by the amount of interest in their products and felt the event has even exceeded their commercial expectations. Mr. Lorenzo Polak, Sales Director at Aqua Innovation (Switzerland) said: “IFAT Eurasia in Istanbul was beyond my expectation. The quantity of visitors was not much but on the other hand the quality of contacts were much better. I am also very positive and happy about the profiling and appearance of the Swiss Pavilion.”

Other Exhibitors have successfully managed to initiate new prosperous business relationships at the Swiss Pavilion. The representatives of I.C.E. AG are in active negotiations with their new Turkish business partners and have already met each other in Turkey and Switzerland to work further on their project.
