From 15 to 17 October 2018, IFAT India took place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. 

With 7'441 visitors, 242 exhibitors and 11’000 sqm exhibition space IFAT India is rapidly growing and each year gaining more significance as a professional networking platform for this region. Also, for the first time, the city of Mumbai with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) was co-host of this event.

Swissenviro had a special focus on India this year. In April 2018 a seminar was organized to discuss the opportunities and possibilities of the Indian environmental market for Swiss companies offering environmental technology solutions. Switzerland is currently the 7th largest recipient of Indian Investments and around 250 Swiss companies already have a presence in India. For international companies interested in expanding their target market to India and in boosting their export business, IFAT India is an ideal first platform to explore the market needs and meet relevant Indian industry professionals and key actors from the Mumbai region, the industrial and economic center of India.

The regular trade fair was extended with a supporting program consisting of topic related seminars, an Innovation Pavilion and a Buyer Seller Forum with precisely pre-arranged networking meetings for the period of the fair.

In 2018, the focus of the trade fair was on desalination technologies, drinking water treatment technologies, as well as plastic and general waste management.

Most of the exhibiting companies at the Swiss Pavilion - including Colasit AG, IndStrat International Consultants LLP, KELLER AG für Druckmesstechnik/Yashtec, Key to Metals AG, SIDSA Environmental Pvt, Smixin/Sree Vybhav Impex - are regular Swiss Pavilion exhibitors at IFAT India in Mumbai and once again, very content about their participation this year, the location close to the main entrance and the number and quality of visitors and contacts on the first 2 days of the show.

In 2019, IFAT India will take place from October 16 to 18 again in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. For the first time, there will also be a second IFAT India trade show from 5th to 7th December 2019 at the NSIC Ground in New Delhi. We are looking forward to both shows and interesting new market insights.
