This year’s Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) brought together over 30'000 stakeholders from governments, academia, industry and international organizations to share best practices, co-create innovative urban water solutions and generate new business opportunities. The event, held from 18 to 22 June, was a testament to the global commitment to building a sustainable future amidst growing resource scarcity.

The Swiss Pavilion, which showcased the best of Swiss innovation and collaboration in water technology, featured prominent Swiss companies and startups, including BluAct, Bucher Unipektin, Hofstetter Gastechnik, Huba Control, Keller, SID and bNovate Technologies.

The Swiss Pavilion had a strong start to the exhibition, marking the signing of a significant partnership. In a groundbreaking move that will revolutionize water safety across Asia, Swiss company bNovate Technologies SA, which provides rapid water monitoring and analysis methods, has sealed its first-ever partnership in Asia by appointing Singapore-based MattenPlant as its official Asian distributor. This collaboration aims to enhance water safety across Asia, particularly in the food and beverage sectors in the Philippines and Vietnam.

Reflections and Future Directions

The success of the Swiss Pavilion at SIWW2024 underscores the pivotal role of international collaboration in addressing global water challenges. The partnerships and innovations highlighted during the event will undoubtedly contribute to more sustainable water management practices worldwide.

“As a unique global platform that brings together governments, cities, utilities, and industry from the region and the world, the 10th edition of SIWW marked a significant milestone as one of the most successful editions yet. We are confident that the knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and strategic collaborations that came forth from the event will continue to drive actionable solutions towards solving the world's most pressing urban water and associated climate challenges,” said Ryan Yuen, Managing Director of SIWW.

Looking ahead, the next edition of SIWW and CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG) is scheduled for 2026, promising to build on the foundations laid this year and continue fostering innovation and collaboration for a sustainable future.
